Massive Breach Exposes U.S. Department of Homeland Security Contracts

Massive Breach Exposes U.S. Department of Homeland Security Contracts with Thousands of Companies
A group calling itself "Department of Peace" has claimed responsibility for an alleged breach targeting the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, publishing documents it said relate to contracts signed with more than 6,000 private companies, including major defense and technology firms.
The data was published through the non-profit leak platform Distributed Denial of Secrets, and included information linked to contracts with the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). According to what has been circulated, the documents originate from the Office of Industry Partnerships within the department, which is the division responsible for contracting with private sector companies to provide technology and security solutions.
Big Names on the List
The leaks pointed to prominent companies such as:
Anduril Industries
L3Harris Technologies
Raytheon
Palantir Technologies
In addition to tech giants Microsoft and Oracle.
According to data organized by security researchers, the leaked files contain contractor names, contract values, and contact information including email addresses and phone numbers.
Contracts Worth Millions of Dollars
Among the contracts that have been circulated:
-
$70 million for Cyber Apex Solutions, specializing in infrastructure security.
-
$59 million for SAIC to provide AI services to government agencies.
-
$29 million for Underwriters Laboratories in the areas of testing and analysis.
So far, no official comments have been issued confirming or denying the authenticity of the data or the nature of the breach.
Political Dimensions
The group that claimed the operation stated that its motives are political, linking the breach to opposition to federal deportation policies amid rising controversy over the situation of migrants. The company Palantir stands out in this context due to its role in providing data analytics tools used in immigration law enforcement.
What's Next?
The actual scope of the breach has not yet been clarified, nor has it been determined whether the data includes sensitive information beyond contract details. The most important question remains:
Will these leaks lead to a broad official investigation?
Or will they be added to the wave of "hacktivism" that blends digital breaching with political protest?
