A collection of important AI features revealed by Microsoft at Build 2023 Developer Conference

At Microsoft's annual developer conference (Build 2023), held in the American city of Seattle,

a set of updates in the field of artificial intelligence from Microsoft was announced.

The focus was on developing the Bing search engine and the ChatGPT chatbot, with the aim of making them smarter and more widely available across all regions as well.

Thanks to the partnership with OpenAI and the launch of the Bing Chat chatbot, Microsoft was able to achieve a significant market share

in the field of artificial intelligence. As a result, major improvements in this area were announced during the

Build 2023 conference, reflecting the company's commitment to continuous development and technical advancements in the field of artificial intelligence as well.

Also:

According to Microsoft's data, the artificial intelligence tools launched by the company since the beginning of this year have received great interest from users. The data indicated that users participated in more than half a billion conversations since the launch of Bing Chat and created more than 200 million images using the Bing Image Creator tool as well. Daily downloads of the Bing mobile app have also increased eightfold since its launch.

The following are the most notable AI features announced by Microsoft at the Build 2023 conference:

1- Integration of Bing Search Engine with ChatGPT Chatbot

At this year's Microsoft Developer Conference, the most important update was announced: the integration of the Bing search engine with the ChatGPT chatbot, making it the default search engine within the bot. As a result of this integration, ChatGPT will be able to access current web content and obtain up-to-date information about current events and news using the Bing search engine as well.

Thanks to this development, ChatGPT can now include sources in its answers, allowing users to get more information about their queries. This feature was rolled out to ChatGPT Plus subscribers the previous day, and is expected to be available to everyone for free soon through the use of the Bing plugin with the bot as well.

2- Adding Plugins to Bing Chat:

More than 70 new plugins were launched for subscribers of the (ChatGPT Plus) edition by OpenAI during the past week. These plugins allow users to use external tools to enhance the capabilities of the chatbot, including access to the internet as well.

At the (Build 2023) conference, Microsoft announced that it would adopt the same approach followed by OpenAI, enabling the addition of features to the (Bing Chat) chatbot and the personal assistant (Copilot) in (Microsoft 365) office applications as well.

The previous day, Microsoft introduced plugins for companies such as Expedia, Instacart, and Zillow in the (Bing Chat) bot. This makes it easier for users to take immediate actions based on the bot's responses as well. For example, Bing users who ask for travel recommendations can book a flight directly from Expedia, or convert recipe suggestions into a shopping list on Instacart.

3- Adding Artificial Intelligence Everywhere in Windows 11

During the (Build 2023) conference, Microsoft announced the integration of artificial intelligence into the Windows 11 operating system. This was achieved by embedding the personal assistant tool (Copilot) into the system, which helps users answer questions, perform tasks, change system settings, and more.

Users can launch the (Copilot) assistant in Windows 11 by clicking its icon in the center of the taskbar. When the assistant is opened, it will appear on the side of the screen and occupy a side panel, allowing the user to continue working on other programs and windows without interference.

4- Adding Artificial Intelligence to the Microsoft Store:

Microsoft announced yesterday the addition of new features using artificial intelligence in the Microsoft Store app store for Windows. These features include:

A. Dedicating a section called “AI Hub” to provide innovative AI experiences designed by developers and Microsoft. These experiences will include productivity apps, such as creating resumes, planning trips, and creating presentations.

B. Adding a feature called “Review Summaries” on app pages, which uses artificial intelligence to analyze reviews written by users about various applications and then provides concise summaries of them. This helps users make informed and knowledgeable purchase decisions.

C. Providing a new tool for developers that uses artificial intelligence to generate keywords and search phrases that help improve the visibility of their applications to users and increase their reach.

With these features, Microsoft aims to improve the user experience in the app store and enhance the use of artificial intelligence to get the most out of available applications.

5- Adding its Smart Assistant Copilot to the Edge Browser:

Also announced during the (Build 2023) conference was a new design for Microsoft's Edge browser, along with the integration of the personal assistant (Copilot) into it. These integrations will improve the user experience when browsing the internet and performing specific tasks according to the open web pages. For example, the (Copilot) assistant can summarize the information available on the page or use it to compose emails or perform other tasks in integration with other Microsoft applications and services. This aims to facilitate user procedures and provide an integrated and efficient experience while using the browser.

And with that, my friend, we have successfully completed the mission ✌
