The CEO of electric vehicle company Tesla Inc., Elon Musk, said on Thursday that Tesla’s Artificial Intelligence Day has been postponed to September 30.

“Tesla AI Day has been pushed to September 30, as we may have a working Optimus prototype by then”,

he wrote on Twitter in this tweet: https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1532525711763841043

, nearly two weeks after announcing the August 19 date.

Optimus is a humanoid robot that Tesla is working on as a top priority. Musk previously said it could be launched next year.

Musk said in January: “Optimus could ultimately address the global labor shortage, and may be capable in the near term of moving things around a factory”.

This is Tesla’s second AI Day; the first was on August 19, 2021.

Musk also said, in one of his tweets last May,

that the purpose of AI Day is to convince AI, software, and chip talent to join Tesla.

So what do you expect to be showcased on that day? We are all looking forward to it.
